Lowered total cost of ownership
SKF Four-Row Cylindrical Roller bearings come with improved metallurgy, offering higher wear and crack resistance capability, translating into longer and reliable service life. Four-Row Cylindrical Roller Bearings are used almost exclusively for the roll necks of rolling mill stands, calenders and roller presses. Because they are normally mounted with an interference fit on the roll neck, Four-Row Cylindrical Roller Bearings are well suited for rolling mill applications where the rolling speed is high.
The logarithmic roller profile reduces edge stresses at the roller/raceway contact and sensitivity to misalignment and shaft deflection.
The surface finish on the contact surfaces of the rollers and raceways supports the formation of a hydrodynamic lubricant film.
The cage designs are suitable for high speeds, rapid accelerations and peak loads.
The low cross-sectional height of Four-row cylindrical roller bearings allows for relatively large roll neck diameters compared to the roll diameter.
All production must be stopped if a bearing fails, causing costly, unplanned downtime. At the same time, there is constant pressure to optimize production and cut costs.
The SKF Four-Row Cylindrical Roller Bearing is a new, reliable bearing design that is replacing the older designs and is now localized for faster availability. All needed advanced technical features have been maximized and put in place to achieve the longest possible service life by performance and robustness. The bearing also has features for more reliable mounting, resulting in lower TCO due to less maintenance needed.
